Travel allows us to see God working Everywhere
Is there any place I can go to avoid your Spirit? to be out of your sight? If I climb to the sky, you’re there! If I go underground, you’re there! If I flew on morning’s wings to the far western horizon, You’d find me in a minute—you’re already there waiting! Then I said to myself, “Oh, He even sees me in the dark! At night I’m immersed in the light!” It’s a fact: darkness isn’t dark to You; night and day, darkness and light, they’re all the same to You. (Psalm 139:7-12 MSG)
Hello Saints,
This will be short but hopefully meaningful and encouraging. God is omnipresent – everywhere! It’s so incredible to see Him working in people’s lives. From the moment I sat on the plane to fly “on the morning’s wings to the far west horizon”, God revealed himself through 3 young Christian men who were sitting around me. We had a wonderful conversation about life in the Spirit: being Spirit-filled, and Spirit-led, prayer, spiritual gifts, healing and deliverance ministry, making disciples, etc. God was present when I met my friends and we rekindled our friendship after a long separation. We were knit together by the Spirit of God, bound together in love and unity. I saw God moving in a 10,000-member church I attended on Sunday. We all worshipped and heard the word of God preached, and heard testimonies of how God was working in the lives of 141 people who were going to be baptized that afternoon in the Bow River that runs through Calgary. I saw God working in His creation as He put His majesty on display in the mountains, rivers, lakes and beauty around me. I saw God’s faithfulness to protect us on the highway as I ran over a large piece of rubber tread that had come off a transport tire. The tiny little Toyota we rented was not affected – praise God! We spent Friday night with friends from Ruth’s Bible college years and were encouraged how God is working in the lives of many of her class mates, even after 35 years. Great food, great fellowship, and great encouragement discussing the faithfulness of God through the years and generations. I saw God’s glory in the incredible wildlife on Vancouver Island – eagles, deer and a large cougar that crossed the road in front of us. I saw God last night as we visited my brother-in-law’s friend’s house. To my great surprise, I entered into deep conversation with one individual, and by the time the sun had set, 4 of us were sitting outside talking about being born-again and shared our salvation testimonies – “but even in darkness I cannot hide from you. To you the night shines as bright as day. Darkness and light are the same to you.” (Psalm 139:12 NLT). I heard of how many young people are coming to the Lord in one man’s church. This morning I got to listen in to our own church service back home and witnessed how the Lord was moving in many lives, and was encouraged as others were stepping in to serve in worship, preaching, and leadership. I rejoiced as I heard that the daughter of a woman in our church back home came to the Lord – “a prodigal had returned”. The first week of our vacation is over, and we are just entering the second! Salmon fishing in the Pacific Ocean tomorrow morning. More friends and family the following days. I’m not sure what awaits us, but I do know that God will be in it, displaying His majesty and glory if I desire to see Him. And, He will be working as He always is in those with whom I interact, even as He works in me. Praise God for His goodness and grace!
Be blessed by His presence!
