Matsa Moments - Pastor Mike

The Hebrew word “Matsa” means to: find, meet, discover, encounter. It is used in Deuteronomy 4:29 where the Lord says, "But from there you will seek the LORD your God, and you will find Him if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul.” Throughout Scripture, there is an invitation from God to find Him; He actually rewards those who diligently seek Him (Heb. 11:6). To see God we must be looking for Him.

This blog is a journal of finding God - discovering who He is; learning more about His character and attributes, as I encounter Him in in His Word and world around me. These posts are theological reflections emerging out of a desire to understand how the Creator interacts with us, His creatures. Hopefully, through these you will see how the Ever-present Holy One also invites you to know Him more.

    The Father's valuable lessons - Proverbs 3

    January 25, 2021

Good morning children of God, your Father loves you!

Peace. Have you got it! Here's a suggestion: Hop up on your Heavenly Father's lap, and let Him hold you, comfort you, speak to you.

(I was led to personalize Proverbs 3 in the New Living Translation - meditate on what your heavenly Father says to you. Come on men...I know you can do it...

  • Good morning Saints,

Praise the Lord! God is good!

I am so grateful for all of you and your commitment to the Lord. We are seeing so much fruit in our lives as we allow the Word of God to transform our thinking, and make choices to live in righteousness. We have been hearing for months that this season of trial is changing us - God uses all...

Listen to Wisdom - Proverbs 1:20-33

    January 11, 2021

    Hello Church!

As followers of Jesus, we have a unique advantage over those who don't know Him. We have Holy Spirit - the 3rd person of the Godhead living on the inside of us. He is there to guide us, reveal truth, and the will of the Father. How sad it is that so many Christians live their lives without seeking Him. Imagine how different this...

Open to Instruction : Proverbs 1:1-19

    January 4, 2021

    Good morning Church, It's 2021!

We begin a new year together! What lies ahead; no one really knows. We can determine to change the way we think, and live our lives, but ultimately, we may just repeat the same old patterns. It happens every year as people make "resolutions" by "resolving" to do things differently. If we are honest, very little...

Who you gonna tell? Luke 1:1-4

    December 28, 2020
    Luke 1:1-4
1 Many people have tried to tell the story of  what God has done among us. They wrote what we had been told by the ones who were there in the beginning and saw what happened. So I made a careful study of everything and then decided to write and tell you exactly what took place. Honorable Theophilus, I...

Luke 24:27-53 - Jesus is our PEACE and JOY!

    December 21, 2020

    Good morning Church,

Here we are Monday morning, anticipating the announcement of a province wide lockdown, that will surely spoil all of our Christmas plans. Forced to do something we don't want to do, by powers stronger than us, and no way to change it.

How did the disciples of Jesus feel, being forced into hiding, confined to their home for...

    The FIRST day! Luke 24:1-27

    December 14, 2020

    Greetings brothers and sisters,

Have you ever seen someone raised from the dead? Neither have I. I've heard stories of Christians raising the dead, but never talked to a person who was indeed, raised to new life. I've heard of people dying on an operating table, and then coming back to life...not quite the same as walking out of a tomb after...

The King is Dead! (Luke 23:26-56)

    December 7, 2020

    Greetings Redeemed of God,

I remember it well, August 16th, 1977, waking up, coming out of my room and finding my mother crying. I was almost 13 years old, and wondered what all the fuss was about. Elvis was dead...the king of rock and roll. The headlines for that day were, "the king is dead". He was loved by millions across the world; over 400...

  • Isaiah 53:6 All of us have strayed away like sheep. We have left God's paths to follow our own. Yet the LORD laid on him the guilt and sins of us all. 7 He was oppressed and treated harshly, yet he never said a word. He was led as a lamb to the slaughter. And as a sheep is silent before the shearers, he did not open his mouth. 8 From prison and...

Luke 22:45-71 - The darkest night

    November 23, 2020

    Hello fellow travelers,

Life can be hard. You can be going along just fine, then all of a sudden - your whole world starts to unravel. You are misunderstood, challenged at every turn, questioned, not appreciated, and ultimately forsaken by many, if not all of your friends, even your closest friends. You find yourself alone before your accusers....
