Matsa Moments - Pastor Mike

The Hebrew word “Matsa” means to: find, meet, discover, encounter. It is used in Deuteronomy 4:29 where the Lord says, "But from there you will seek the LORD your God, and you will find Him if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul.” Throughout Scripture, there is an invitation from God to find Him; He actually rewards those who diligently seek Him (Heb. 11:6). To see God we must be looking for Him.

This blog is a journal of finding God - discovering who He is; learning more about His character and attributes, as I encounter Him in in His Word and world around me. These posts are theological reflections emerging out of a desire to understand how the Creator interacts with us, His creatures. Hopefully, through these you will see how the Ever-present Holy One also invites you to know Him more.

Secure in the truth (1Peter 1:1-9)

    August 1, 2022

    Hello Chosen Saints of God,

I get so encouraged to hear of people walking in and by the Word of the Lord. People who read the word and spend time with Jesus, those who are truly led by the truth of scripture not their own senses, thoughts and emotions, are secure and steadfast in God and His promises. The longer one walks with the Lord, the more...

    Are you kidding me?

“Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ” (1Peter 1a)

Not long ago, while on holidays, I ran into a young woman from the first church I pastored. She was only a teenager back then, part of our youth group. She had with her a young infant around one year old. We started to talk and I found out she had married a certain...

at all times and in every way.

The Lord be with all of you.” (2Th. 3:16)

    Greetings friends,

We have arrived at the end of our journey through 1st and 2nd Thessalonians, which began some five and a half months ago. We have encountered a young vibrant church that was born in a hostile...

    (2Thess. 3:6-15)

Good day brothers and sisters in Christ, the Lord be with you!

Before we get going, I would like you to read the passage for today’s devotional, in as many translations as you can. Spend some time with the text underlining what jumps out at you, any repetition, and key words. Why?...

    Prayer is a priority

1 Furthermore, brethren, do pray for us, that the Word of the Lord may speed on (spread rapidly and run its course) and be glorified (extolled) and triumph, even as [it has done] with you, 2 And that we may be delivered from perverse (improper, unrighteous) and wicked (actively malicious) men, for not everybody has faith and...

  • Leave the crowd behind

9 The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, 10 and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved . 11 And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they...

    Deception is Dangerous

    June 6, 2022

“Now, dear brothers and sisters, let us clarify some things about the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and how we will be gathered to meet him. Don’t be so easily shaken or alarmed by those who say that the day of the Lord has already begun. Don’t believe them, even if they claim to have had a spiritual vision, a revelation, or...

    Relief, Retribution and Revelation

This is a plain indication of God’s righteous judgment so that you will be considered worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you indeed are suffering. For after all it is only right for God to repay with affliction those who afflict you, and to give relief to you who are afflicted, along with us, when...
