O Worship the King

O Worship the King

Hello Chosen Ones,

Is He Worthy? He made you! In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  He was with God in the beginning. Through Him all things were made; without Him nothing was made that has been made. (John 1:1-3)

Is He Worthy? He made you for Himself! For in Him all things were created, things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities. All things were created through Him and for Him. (Col. 1:16)

Is He worthy?  He redeemed you to spend eternity with Him. "Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!"… "To Him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever!" (Rev. 5:12-13).

How far would you go to worship Jesus - your creator, your pursuit, your joy? Would you leave your country and people just to worship Him? "Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him." (Matthew 2:2)

What would you offer Him?And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshiped Him. And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh. (Matt. 2:11)

Would you give Him your all? And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all He has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind He will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship Him. (Rom. 12:1 NLT)

Are we true worshippers of our God and Savior, Jesus Christ or just going through the motions? When was the last time we truly fell down and worshiped Him? ‘These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. They worship me in vain; their teachings are but rules taught by men.’ (Matt. 15:8-9)

Have you ever noticed how the New Testament starts? In Matthew’s Gospel, after the Genealogy of Jesus the Christ, and the announcement by the angel of the coming Immanuel, we are told of the wise men searching this ‘King’ so they can worship Him (2:2). Matthew’s gospel ends with the women who have just witnessed the empty tomb, running into Jesus: And as they went to tell His disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, "Rejoice!" So they came and held Him by the feet and worshiped Him (Matt. 28:9). The Gospel ends with the disciples (most of them) literally worshipping Jesus (Matt. 28:17). In the middle of the gospel, we have Jesus walking on water as Creator and Lord over all! What is the response of the disciples in the boat: “Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, "Truly you are the Son of God” (Matt. 14:33).

Throughout the gospels, many fall at the feet of Jesus to worship Him. Even the angels worship Jesus: “having become so much better than the angels, as He has by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.  For to which of the angels did He ever say: "You are My Son, Today I have begotten You"? And again: "I will be to Him a Father, And He shall be to Me a Son"?  But when He again brings the firstborn into the world, He says: "Let all the angels of God worship Him."  And of the angels He says: "Who makes His angels spirits And His ministers a flame of fire.” But to the Son He says: "Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your Kingdom” (Heb. 1:4-8).

Dear Lord, I was made by You and I was made for You; I was made to worship You, my King. May I be found faithful to do that for which I was created!

O for a thousand tongues to sing

My great Redeemer’s praise

The glories of my God and King

  The triumphs of His grace.

My gracious Master and my God

  Assist me to proclaim,

To spread through all the earth abroad

The honors of Thy name.

Peace
