The Hebrew word “Matsa” means to: find, meet, discover, encounter. It is used in Deuteronomy 4:29 where the Lord says, "But from there you will seek the LORD your God, and you will find Him if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul.” Throughout Scripture, there is an invitation from God to find Him; He actually rewards those who diligently seek Him (Heb. 11:6). To see God we must be looking for Him.
This blog is a journal of finding God - discovering who He is; learning more about His character and attributes, as I encounter Him in in His Word and world around me. These posts are theological reflections emerging out of a desire to understand how the Creator interacts with us, His creatures. Hopefully, through these you will see how the Ever-present Holy One also invites you to know Him more.
Good Morning Called, Chosen and Faithful ones,
Our weekly reading is found in Luke 6:12-26 and Matthew 5:1-12
In Luke, Jesus just finished an all night prayer session on a mountain top. Then He CALLS His disciples to himself, and from them, He CHOOSES twelve (Luke 6:12-13). Then he comes down the mountain side, and stands in front of a bunch of people from whom He cast out demons, and those whom He healed,. It was a large crowd of miracle seekers and disciples - there is a difference! He turned to "His disciples" (v.20) and gave them the secret to happiness: the word "blessed" means happy! This portion of scripture is called "the Beatitudes" from the latin word "beatus", meaning happy and blessed.
Can you be truly happy? Yes!!!
In Luke, we are even told the things that will bring us grief - "woes".
If you really want true happiness, I encourage you to dig deep into this portion of scripture - meditate on it, do word studies, ask Holy Spirit.
Have a happy week!
