Matsa Moments - Pastor Mike

The Hebrew word “Matsa” means to: find, meet, discover, encounter. It is used in Deuteronomy 4:29 where the Lord says, "But from there you will seek the LORD your God, and you will find Him if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul.” Throughout Scripture, there is an invitation from God to find Him; He actually rewards those who diligently seek Him (Heb. 11:6). To see God we must be looking for Him.

This blog is a journal of finding God - discovering who He is; learning more about His character and attributes, as I encounter Him in in His Word and world around me. These posts are theological reflections emerging out of a desire to understand how the Creator interacts with us, His creatures. Hopefully, through these you will see how the Ever-present Holy One also invites you to know Him more.

WOW! What a passage! Ephesians 1:3-14

    September 6, 2021
    WOW!

3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. 4 For He chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in His sight. In love 5 He predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with His pleasure and will— 6 to the praise of His glorious grace, which He has freely given us in the One He loves. 7 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace 8 that He lavished on us. With all wisdom and understanding, 9 He made known to us the mystery of His will according to His good pleasure, which He purposed in Christ, 10 to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment—to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ.
11 In Him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of Him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of His will, 12 in order that we, who were the first to put our hope in Christ, might be for the praise of His glory. 13 And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in Him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, 14 Who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—
to the praise of His glory. (NIV)

    Wow… What!

You are blessed, chosen before the foundation of the world, holy, blameless, loved, planned, adopted as a son or daughter, redeemed, saved and free, forgiven, united to Christ, lavished with glorious grace, showered with kindness, wisdom and understanding; part of a glorious plan which includes a rich inheritance, and heaven as our home. You are His own child, His possession, filled with Holy Spirit, who guarantees our destiny. You were not an accident! You are part of a well thought out plan by the God of the Universe!

    Wow…How!

It was all God! According to His will, His plan, His working, and His good pleasure; according to His love and His incredible kindness to us, and His overwhelming grace and mercy. All of this was possible because Jesus Christ died on a cross for you and me; shed His blood for redemption and forgiveness. It is Finished! By Faith we believed!

    Wow…Why!

So we would praise God, live for Him and tell others about this incredible plan of love and grace!

What can we say! What an incredible passage! I am speechless. Read it in various translations. Read it over and over again. Know it! Memorize it! Believe it! Receive it! Tell it to others!
