I AM

“Whatever I tell you in the dark, speak in the light;
and what you hear in the ear, preach on the housetops.” Mt 10:27

Towards the end of each year I find myself reflecting back on the year and praising God for all that He has done.  He is faithful.  I also look ahead, asking God what is on His heart for the following year

I started this blog as a way of sharing some of what God has put on my heart as I have spent time with Him.  As you reflect back on my blog entries you have read, I hope that you have laughed, cried, been encouraged, convicted and challenged.  Most of all I hope that, as you have spent time with Jesus listening to what He has to say, you have fallen more in love with Him.

This has been a year of constant change however I have been reminded that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. (Heb 13:8 NKJV)  It is so reassuring to know that amidst the chaos and unknowns in the world today, we have a King who is, has always been and who will always be who He says He is.

I have found that the best way to get to know Jesus is to spend time in His word.  He declares who He is in His word!

Jesus declares:

“I am the bread of life.” (Jn 6:48 NKJV)

“I am the light of the world.” (Jn 8:12)

“I am the door.” (Jn 10:9)

“I am the good shepherd.” (Jn 10:11)

“I am the resurrection and the life.” (Jn 11:25)

“I am the way, the truth, and the life.” (Jn 14:6)

“I am the vine.” (Jn 15:1; 5)

These amazing truths about who Jesus is are declared from His own mouth.  I encourage you to read and meditate on these scriptures.  They will comfort you, give you hope and help you to persevere.

Such things were written in the Scriptures long ago to teach us hope and encouragement as we wait patiently for God’s promises to be fulfilled. (Ro 15:4 NLT)

In the book of Revelation of Jesus Christ, Jesus continues to declare who He is.

Jesus declares:

“I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.” (Rev 1:8; 22:13 NKJV)

“I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last.” (Rev 1:11, 17; 22:13 NKJV)

“I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore.” (Rev 1:18 NKJV)

“I am He who searches the minds and hearts.” (Rev 2:23 NKJV)

And then Jesus encourages us by saying:

“Behold, I am coming as a thief.  Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked and they see his shame.” (Rev 16:15)

“Behold, I am coming quickly!  Blessed is he who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book.” (Rev 22:7)

“And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work.” (Rev 22:12)

“Surely I am coming quickly.” (Rev 22:20)

“I Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the churches.  I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star.” (Rev 22:16)

What is my response to what Jesus is saying?  Love Him, worship Him, follow Him, serve Him, listen to and obey Him.  He is going to continue to be my pursuit in 2021.  What about you?

“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches...” Rev 2:7

My prayer is that I will keep my eyes riveted on Him and remain so close that I can hear every whisper, and walk in obedience to what He tells me to do. Bless you, Wendy as you have continually studied, exhorted, reminded and encouraged us to draw close. YOu are indeed a jewel in His crown.

It is obvious that you have spent much time studying The Word. It's also good to have all that scripture at hand to help you through each day. It's a good time to reflect on the past year and make some goals for the new year I believe as well. Thanks Wendy.
